What this function does
The CRM holds the objects a revenue team argues about: accounts, contacts, opportunities, stages, owners. Forecasts, commission, and board reporting all start here.
It is also the hub of the integration map. Enrichment writes into it, engagement tools log activity against it, billing reads closed deals out of it. A weak data model in the CRM shows up as bad data in every tool downstream.

What job descriptions ask for
Postings ask for administration (fields, objects, permissions, automation), reporting on top of it, and migration or cleanup work. When a posting asks for “CRM experience” with no vendor, the parser records it as “CRM (unspecified)”.
How it shows up in the scores
Two CRMs in the same posting is the textbook overlap behind the tool_hoarding red flag and the “competing categories” language in the Franken-Stack bands. A posting that names one CRM as the system of record is the opposite signal.
Every tool a posting names adds to its tool count, but the Franken-Stack score is not a tool count. It is a model judgment of how disconnected the stack is, with a written rationale. Read the bands or see how scored postings read today.
How often does CRM appear in scored postings? The record counts tools per posting but does not yet store which category each tool falls in, so this page does not say, and does not rank the tools above.
